I just had a massive wardrobe overhaul. I pulled every over washed, oversized and underwhelming piece from out my closet and over stuffed drawers. Man, it feels good to finally find what I am looking for without piles of everything else getting in the way. Too bad it only took me 5 months to clean out! If you are contemplating this in the least, I suggest you just pull out what is in the way and make a huge messy pile and tackle it. I wouldn’t give you any tips on how to do this in an organized manner because if you know me in real life, I am very disorganized.
My pile of donations and Thred up helped clear the way to a usable space with open views of what I own and I what I actually wear. Which if you are wondering about Thred up, I scored $64 back….Heck yeah! SO here we are, newer and new Spring/Summer pieces added in whites, blues and pinks alleviating all of the grays and black. I kept all my favorite white dresses and all of my denim because that is always in style and sectioned them off into the space where I can easily see and grab them in the morning.
I tend to over saturate my wardrobe with cotton white eyelet. Can’t live without it. It could be the Florida girl in me that loves light and easy wear. Basically any top that dresses up cut off shorts and any dress that calls for a simple slide is a true friend of mine.
While there is no Florida heat where I live, distressed frayed hem jeans are the fillers I wear before the high-waisted shorts make their way out. These bottom staples only need a fun and sweet top to keep your outfit from being plain old and boring. Welcome the Summer essential top-the eyelet top. This Lovely Pepa star blouse screams whimsy and effort free! Everything from the starry lace to the slight ballooned sleeve make it a great piece to add to your tops on repeat. I have only tried it with these Joes, but I will soon be throwing it on with shorts, skirts and then jeans again, because you know, motherhood.
