As we near a major season of shopping, I’ve been very careful not to submit to my tempation to purchase online this weekend and sit tight till cyber Monday. I get countless emails with discounts and promos and offers that end way to soon. I am holding out for the bigger and better. My husband turned me on to cyber monday. Ive been religiously perusing deals that day for the last 7 years. Thats not to say I don’t wake up at the crack of dawn on Black Friday and expect to walk out with a heavy load of shoes for under $100. I never do!!
While he is currently in China on a business he alerted me today of “Singles Day” a day of explosive online shopping deals. Hence the singles date 11-11. If you thought “Singles” as in not married, you are not alone, I did too! HAHA . Suddenly its a worldly tradition.
While I do hold out for some things, I still know a good deal when I see one. A few of my favorite stores consistently run generous promotions on new arrivals. Banana Republic and Ann Taylor are two favorites of mine. Who wants to stalk an item till it gets marked down and then they sell out of your size?? I do not! The cropped color block jacket from Ann Taylor is a great jacket that will take from fall-spring. Its lightweight, neutral and warm. I threw this jacket on over a white tank and jeans for a casual date night and it completely changed my very casual look to a cleaner pulled together look. This only means I’ll be throwing it on every pair of jeans I own. It also works with a longer sleeve sweater under. Gray was the most seamless way to layer it with and the easier palette to work with. I have a thing for gray, you should see my house!
